About the MassageTherapist

Shoko Akiyama is a New York State licensed massage therapist offering a unique form of therapeutic and medical massage. Her technique blends soothing Swedish with dynamic Deep Tissue massage.To this she adds Aromatherapy, using only the highest quality organic Jojoba and the finest essential oils, for a completely healing and relaxing experience.

Shoko graduated from the Swedish Institute for Massage Therapy and Allied Health Sciences in New York City where she earned an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies. She is also a Certified practitioner of Reflexology, Pregnancy massage, and Aromatherapy.

Shoko was first introduced to therapeutic massage as a client, when she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and experienced chronic pain. She was quite impressed with the healing results of her first massage sessions because her pain was dramatically reduced and much eased. Later this wonderful experience opened the door to becoming a massage therapist herself, and now she continually seeks new knowledge and growth to serve her clients better!
